The Haunt rises, after  the break!

Last weekend, we shared the dynamite self-titled debut EP from buzzworthy indie hard rockers – The Haunt – during our Album Spotlights. The record makes for a great introduction to their grounded rock ‘n roll sound that hits you with a full force of energy & emotion over the course of its 6-tracks. Was kinda shocked that these vintage ghostly wails are produced by such young souls. Oh the demons they must be channeling.

Our team has hunted all sorts of rocking apparitions over the years and stepped into Hollywood’s infamous “Viper’s Pit” once more to add this band of haunted spirits to the list.

Enjoy these concert highlights… brought to you by Picksysticks & our brand new contributor, Michael Wyndham!

Fresh from a winter European tour with fashion art rockers, Palaye Royale, and the Hollister High School Nation Tour w/ Plain White T’s, South Florida’s The Haunt descended upon the Sunset Strip for a special industry showcase to preview songs from their forthcoming debut album.

Powerfully led by 16 yr old singer Anastasia Grace and her older brother Max on guitar/vox, the quartet, which also features bassist Natalie Smallish and drummer Nick Lewert, punctured the Viper Room with potent fangs of their own. It was a bloodletting.

Blazing thru songs from their self-titled EP, the band added heft to their set with mesmerizing covers of Kanye West “Ultralight Beam,” and Louis Armstrong’s “St. James Infirmary.” Whether it was the voyeuristic vamp of “Dirty,” the gothic joyride “Streets & Lies,” which brims with undertones of Bauhaus, My Chemical Romance and Siouxsie and the Banshees, or a reimagining of their signature song, “All Went Black,” recently remixed by Jordan Asher, who works under the name Boots, having lent his talents to Beyoncé on her smash hit “Drunk in Love (feat. Jay-Z),” as well as tracks by FKA twigs and Run the Jewels, The Haunt eviscerated every arms-folded expectation.

The sky’s the limit. Next stop, Andromeda.
