This was one of those albums that caught me off guard upon returning from fall break.
Wouldn't have expected that longtime TBS favorite... the artistically abstract pop rocker Sondre Lerche... would release an album with all his famous shareworthy Holiday covers. Yet here we are!
Spanning over 15 tracks... 'Understudy' reintroduces Sondre Lerche's covers of Drake, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Doja Cat, Selena Gomez, Bob Dylan, Sia, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and plenty more that you probably already experienced before over the past decade. I sure have shared many of these tracks over the years. Still having it in this stellar production package means the world to this fan. No need to track them down over on Sondre's Soundcloud anymore.
Spoiler alert: The last five tracks are bonus cuts you might've never experienced before. So there is something new you can take away from the listening session.
Pray Sondre continues his Holiday cover tradition for the next decade & releases 'Understudy II' in ten more years! (Or just releases a full Ariana Grande cover album hehe)
