The Listened List - Summer '26

Greetings!

Summer 2026 needed much more maturity than I wanted to give. I think I'll always look back on this past summer with great appreciation despite it breaking me... mentally and physically. Things needed to upgraded and fixed. That was the ultimate theme for the season. Nothing I could've done would've changed that fact. And I'm truly grateful for the peace that it brought in hindsight. But at the time, I felt melted down as I begun a new financial journey over on Attic805.

Been having a blast being a part-time reseller! Just wish it was busier, but we're all struggling you know? Patience. Patience. Patience.

Music wise, my break away from That Buzzing Sound allowed me to enjoy all types of new & old sounds. More on the "Old" as I was digging through my father's old collection most afternoons. He was big into The Rolling Stones, yet I didn't know much beyond their classic hits. So I became a "Beast of Burden". By allowing and absorbing all the albums I researched from our collection on "The Bay" gave me such clarity on why someone might've had a connection with these artistic projects. Got to hear some classic experiences for the first time.

Sure... I wanted to push out content here on That Buzzing Sound but Attic805 needed my full attention. Every story will be told soon. Either here or over on my Personal Bored 4 Music Photo Blog! These features are the closest to social media I'll ever get now.

Plus, I was putting together a few important new music feature series that will happily debut soon on the brand new site!

ANYWAY!

One big change I made with this quarter's The Listened List was to be far more "judgy" with my recommendations. There shouldn't be over 40 gold stickers per season. As I doubt I'll return to most albums because I haven't really ventured back due to the large quantity of drops each month. Only one Gold Sticker record below has reached possible Favorite Album of 2026 status from this batch. I spent almost August playing with it on repeat. Really wish more albums got that jump in a bump, but they haven't just yet.

That's what I want from this series, but how can I do that if there's a waterfall of new albums every week? I'm suppose to be curating and finding the diamonds in the rough, right? I only got two ears and limited time. Still finding all this a fun subject to explore because "what do I really want from my musical curation... quality or quantity"? Only time will tell! Thanks for coming back.

Here are...
