Greetings! Ready for another round!?
October 2025's Playlist is basically acting like the sequel to last week's September blurb. Ended up filtering out close to 100 pitches to be included here due to imminent album releases. All those artists trying to get their projects in before Albums of the Year posts get compiled, right? Or to tease early 2026 quarters? Quite logical. Usually makes this month quite important and buzzworthy.
I don't start working on our AOTY list until December-ish. Though I spend much of November playing catch-up. This listener hates not being able to include all those "somewhat forgotten" December projects. The current music model continues to relatively stay open 24/7, 7 days a week. So to pass on good records due to timely delays feels off, you know? It is what it is, I guess? Need the clicks.
ANYWAY! Taylor Swift begins this playlist (duh) that eventually spotlights a big batch of buzzworthy new artists and many of my longtime favs like Florence + The Machine, Luke Combs, Daniel Caesar, Dan + Shay, Lily Allen, Allen Stone, Miguel, Bahamas, AFI, BUMP OF CHICKEN, and plenty more... alongside some surprising returns from RADWIMPS & Imogen Heap! Nearly ran through a wall when I saw Imogen Heap's EP press release. Can't believe I've been a fan for 20 years.
Time makes newsworthy moments like that mean something. Especially when they arrive out of left field.
